This policy is meant to provide a common frame for the Staircase teachers and students and to protect both.
To cancel and modify a lesson, students should click "Returning student? Login" on the scheduler page.
Cancellation policy:1. More than 24 hours before the lesson start time, student and teacher can cancel the lesson without prior notice. To cancel, students click "Returning student? Login" on the scheduler page.
2. Within 24 hours of the lesson start time: Cancellation is only possible if both the student and the teacher agree.
3. PAYMENT & COMPENSATION: Students and teachers are professionals with schedules busy with appointments. When the student cancels without prior notice and within 24 hours of the lesson start time, full payment should go to the teacher. When the teacher cancels within 24 hours of the lesson and without prior notice, teacher offers rescheduling of the lesson + a 30 minutes "Free lesson" or equivalent teaching service (editing, text correction for instance) in compensation.
Rescheduling policy:1. More than 24 hours before the lesson start time: Rescheduling of confirmed lessons is only possible if both the student and the teacher agree.
2. Within 24 hours of the lesson start time: Rescheduling of confirmed lessons is only possible if both the student and the teacher agree.
In both cases, both the student and the teacher need to keep proof of their communication in writing, whether through e-mail or skype chat. If there was a problem, contact the head of teachers lea@thestaircase.org.
