Every card in this gorgeous gift set is an original work of art, boasting a one-of-a-kind piece of hand-marbled paper. The set contains an assortment of unique colors and patterns, many in the tradition of the ancient marblers, and some displaying more contemporary expressions. For all, papers are treated and pressed, paints are floated on an aqueous bath of size, and colors are swirled, combed, or raked to kaleidoscopic effects. Then a single print is made of each design. An assortment of eight such prints are within this box, each mounted to a shimmering metallic paper border. The cards are A-2 size (4.25 by 5.5 inches) and their matching European-style, deep-V-flap envelopes are crafted of fine white linen and nestled in colorful tissue with a Brief History of Marbling information card and wrapped in ribbon, ready to give. Each box contains a card that matches the cover of the box and an assortment of other patterns and colors.
