Thai yoga therapy is a healing art, prominently known as traditional Thai Yoga Massage, that roots back to the days of Buddha—about 2,500 years ago.

This therapeutic art was directly rooted in the Indian healing traditions of Ayurvedic medicine. The father founder of Thai Yoga Massage, Jivaka Kumarbhaccha was a renowned doctor and yogi, who treated Buddha, among others. After the Buddha’s death, the earliest Buddhist monks traveled to Southeast Asia and were accompanied by Ayurvedic doctors. These doctors practiced a healing art, that would later evolve into traditional Thai Massage.

Thai Yoga Massages are performed on a mat on the floor. The practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures and gentle stretching while palming and thumbing along the body's "sen" (energy lines) and pressure points. This relieves muscular tension, increases circulation and balances the body by unblocking and dispersing energy.

​I currently hold sessions at Intrinsic Mind Holistic Health & Wellness Centre in Glen Osmond. As a master Reiki Practitioner, I love to use the healing energy of reiki to accompany this treatment. This is a must try for anyone!

Most partner poses are unexpectedly accessible, no matter your age or size. Some poses are easier when the partners are similar in height, but you’ll be surprised how much weight our bodies can support.

Partner Yoga can be for everyone when practiced appropriately; you’ll just want to make sure your teacher is aware of any injuries or medical conditions you have.

Partner yoga is a style of asana practice in which two people support each other in poses in a way that enhances the postures and builds trust and communication. Working with a partner provides balance in a pose while establishing and maintaining proper body alignment. It also allows each yogi to experience the pose in a different way.

It is well known that yoga reduces stress and delimits anxiety. Partner yoga, on the other hand, can do the same for both partners, and what is more is that it can augment peace of mind.
