YOGA FOR HEALTHY BACKS - Sunday, August 4, 2:00-4:00 pm
Many students are coming to class because doctors and physical therapists are recommending yoga for back pain. Learn creative sequence strategies for backbends, forward folds and twists. Keep your students safe with simple warm-ups and strength building postures. Understand what should be avoided in common cues to help prevent injury.

YOGA FOR OSTEOPOROSIS
As we age, our bones become more brittle and weight-bearing movement is key to building bone density. However, if bones are already fragile because of osteopenia or osteoporosis, yoga poses that involve deep rotation and flexion of the spine are typically contraindicated as these movement place unsafe pressure on spinal vertebrae. In this workshop you will learn weight-bearing postures to strengthen the bones of the legs and hips and safe versions of lateral bends, forward bends, twists and back bends.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
Restorative yoga is more popular than ever as students realize the need for deep relaxation and rest. Learn how to sequence a simple restorative practice and use one pose as an alternative to Savasana. Learn how to adapt the poses and get creative with the props you have access to in different teaching settings. Help your students reap the benefits of this quiet relaxing practice!

YOGA FOR HEALTHY SHOULDERS
Learn how to prevent some of the most common shoulder injuries in yoga with creative warm-ups and strength building. Teach simple alignment principles for poses like Adho Mukha Svanasana so your students’ shoulders stay safe. Learn how to approach more challenging poses like Chaturanga Dandasana with innovative propping and cueing.

YOGA NIDRA
Yoga nidra is the answer and antidote to the everyday suffering that we all experience. It works by engaging the witness consciousness and enables us to be momentarily free from our negative self-talk. In this training you will learn how it works and understand how to create your own yoga nidra scripts. Sample script and yoga nidra download will be provided.
