Prenatal & Postpartum Series

Nova Fitness Pre Natal Series ( 12 Weeks) ( Taxes Included)

Our Prenatal program is a series of classes over 12 weeks. Classes run every Monday evening from 6:30-7:30pm at Nova Fitness on Spring Garden Rd, Halifax. All classes will be in-person with a total of 3 people to maintain current social distancing and Public Health directives. Having such a small class also allows for a lot of 1:1 attention which you do not receive in larger programs.

The goal of our prenatal program is to provide you with a blend of exercise and education to see you through your pregnancy journey. This will involve foundational exercises designed with your core and pelvic floor in mind. We will help you remain active throughout pregnancy with appropriate modifications throughout the trimesters. The education sessions will focus on changes your body is going through, a beginners' guide to anatomy of the core and pelvic floor, common physical challenges during pregnancy, how to exercise safely, nutritional needs, preparing for birth, and functional movements for Motherhood. We ultimately want you to feel strong, confident, and prepared for birth, which leads to a better postpartum recovery as well! It’s a win-win!

This program is for you if:

You are currently pregnant (2nd trimester is the ideal time)

You want guidance on how to exercise throughout pregnancy

You want to learn more about the changes to your body, what to expect, and how you can prepare.

You want to be part of a small group of women in the same boat as you

You want to learn how to stay strong during pregnancy and recover more effectively postpartum

You want a better understanding of the female body

You desire guidance from a personal trainer and Pelvic Floor trained Physiotherapist both with Pre/Post Natal Fitness Specialist training.

Our Postpartum program is a series of classes over 12 weeks. Classes run every Thursday evening from 6:30-7:30pm at Nova Fitness on Spring Garden Rd, Halifax. All classes will be in-person with a total of 3 people to maintain current social distancing and Public Health directives. Having such a small class also allows for a lot of 1:1 attention which you do not receive in larger programs.

The postpartum program will provide you with a blend of exercise and education to see you through your postpartum recovery. And let's be clear, postpartum is anyone who has ever had a baby. That could have been 3 months ago, 12 months ago, or 12 years ago. It really doesn’t matter. We have had women in this program who were 10+ years postpartum and still benefited and learned so much!
The exercises you will learn will help to rebuild your core stability, posture, strength, and mobility. We want to help you embrace your postpartum body! Yes it has changed, but that does not mean you can’t be a stronger, healthier, more confident version of you. The education sessions will focus on the effects of pregnancy on the body, postpartum recovery, diastasis recti, common pelvic floor related issues, beginners anatomy of the pelvic floor and core, exercise guidelines, and the role of nutrition.

This program is for you if:

You are postpartum (aka anyone who ever birthed a child)

You want guidance on how to exercise after birth

You want to learn how to retrain your core the best way possible

You want to gain strength prior to returning to higher impact exercise
