The coaching agenda will be developed collaboratively by the client and coach. The client’s goals, short and long term, will be the focus of all coaching conversations and sessions. Sessions will be concerned with personal or professional transitions and goals, understanding self or others, or developing strengths-based strategies and skills. Coaching is future-oriented and proactive, it is not therapy or counseling and does not focus to resolve past trauma or conflict.
The coaching relationship requires the coach to engage in direct and personal conversations. The coach promises to be honest and straightforward when asking questions and making requests. The coach promises all information provided to the coach will be kept confidential.
The client understands that collaboration with the coach is designed to empower the client; the coach acts as a facilitator of change. It is the client’s responsibility to enact or bring about change. The client understands the power of coaching is granted by the client. If the client is for any reason unhappy with the coaching actions or relationship, the client will communicate this to the coach to further empower the client and improve the coaching experience and its results.
