Luke Axworthy runs blacksmithing classes for people of all ages (10+) and abilities at Flameworks Creative Arts Facility. The classes can cover all of the basics from heat control and hammer technique to making damascus steel and creating your own tools.

Luke Axworthy is an award winning metalsmith, designer-maker and instructor. His work has been selected for prestigious shows including; The Devon Guild of Craftsmen' 'Get Fresh 2017', London Design Fair, Thoughtbubble 2016 and has been exhibited in galleries across the world.

Blacksmithing Skills is a group formed by Black Hand Crafts to help promote the age old art of Blacksmithing. People of all talents are welcome to come try their hand at this prestigious craft!
Currently lessons run on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Sundays.
Lessons start at approximately 19:00 and run through to 21:00 though sometimes they can run on after.
The first two sessions cost £20.00 and then £25.00 thereafter (discounts may be available for those that are students or unemployed, email for more details)
Don't be put off by the price, most Blacksmithing lessons cost upward of £60.00!
During the lessons you will be making the following:
Your own set of tongs
A Victorian cloak hook
A Viking eating knife
Once you have done this you will be free to pursue your own projects all with the help of our master smith Jez Menis.
