COVID-19 Safety Plan
Our on-site learning lab at the White Rock location is open for in person learning. However, students will be required to wear masks while receiving services inside our facility. All staff members are also required to wear masks when servicing students. Our general safety guidelines will include:
Staff Training- all staff members will be required to complete a training on following appropriate CDC guidelines for maintaining safe learning and working environment in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in environments for both children and adults.
Staff self-screening- Teachers and staff will self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming onto campus each day. The self-screening will include taking their own temperature and answering the following questions:
Question 1)
In the past two weeks, have you had close or direct contact or live with someone who has been lab diagnosed with COVID-19?
a. being directly exposed to infectious secretions (coughed on while not wearing a mask or shield)
b. being within 6 feet for a cumulative duration of 15 minutes, while not wearing mask or shield.
(If yes, the staff member will be asked not to report to work and will be sent home)
Question 2)
In the past two days, have you had COVID symptoms, such as feeling feverish or measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, loss of smell or taste, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, headache, chills, sore throat, shaking or exaggerated shivering, significant muscle pain, or diarrhea?
Staff members with temperatures 100.4 or greater and/or showing other symptoms related to COVID-19 will be separated from those who are well in a designated location and sent home immediately.
Student numbers- a maximum of 3 learners in any enclosed learning space at any given time.
Student screenings- all students will be required to have temperature checks upon arrival and before entering the learning space.
Students with temperatures and showing other symptoms related to COVID-19 will be separated from well students in a designated area supervised by a staff member. The parents will be notified immediately and children will be sent home.
Parent waiver signed weekly- parents will be required to sign a waiver form each week before their child will be allowed to enter the learning space. Parents are urged to keep students at home if they feel ill, have a fever, problems breathing or chest pain.
Social Distancing – tables, desks, and all learning areas will be marked off to encourage students to keep six feet away from others to reduce the chance of infection/spread of the virus.
Hand washing – students will be encouraged to regularly wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Instructions will be given to students daily on proper hand washing techniques. The school day will include time for regular hand washing.
Hand sanitizing- All learning areas will be equipped with hand sanitizer and posters reminding students to wash their hands and use sanitizer.
Personal Protective Equipment
Masks – All students and staff will be required to wear face masks that cover the mouth and nose. Extra disposable masks will be kept on site for students needing them.
Face Shields- face shields are not required by staff or students
Plexiglass dividers will be utilized in all learning areas for each individual student. Plexiglass dividers will be cleaned and disinfected daily.
Education- teachers and staff will share with students the symptoms of COVID-19 and encourage them to stay home if they feel sick. Parents are urged to keep students at home if they feel ill, have a fever, problems breathing or chest pain.
Parents will be encouraged to talk with their children about COVID-19 and to reinforce basic safety measures. All staff will be required to complete COVID-19 safety training.
Student Belongings
Students will have individual bins to house their supplies to reduce the chance of infection/ spread of the virus. All student belongings such pens, will be wiped off with sanitizing wipes daily
Sanitizing procedures-learning areas including tables and desks will be sanitized daily and deep cleaned weekly. Students will be required to watch a video showing how to practice safety protocols.
Learning areas will be equipped with Air purifier cleaner air HEPA filter with UVC that kills bacteria in the air.

A staff member will meet students at the designated entrance for student temperature screenings and check-in. Parents/guardians will not be allowed into the facility at any time.
