Terms and Conditions

We’ll always do our best to fulfil your needs and meet your expectations. Please take time to read the terms and conditions of booking our courses.

1. Please be aware that the Dog First Aid Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the day of purchase.

2. Please be aware that the first aid courses are active, practical sessions. They usually require participants to be able to kneel, twist, bend over simulated casualties, sit on the floor, perform simulated CPR etc. If you are concerned by any of this, feel that you or anyone that you may be purchasing a gift voucher for may not be able to perform some or any of these tasks or have any questions, please contact us before booking the course.

3. Please inform us of any medical conditions or special requirements that you feel may be relevant. This allows us to make reasonable adjustments where necessary.

4. The gift voucher code is required at the time of booking a course to allow us to secure your course/place.

5. The person redeeming the gift voucher will be notified by Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home once their booking and voucher code have been received.

6. Candidates need to bring proof of their identity with them on the day of their course. We must be able to verify candidate identity to allow certificates and qualifications to be awarded. Where identity cannot be authenticated during the course, certification and any qualification may be delayed until the Awarding Body can confirm that candidate’s identity. Suitable proof includes: a valid passport, driving licence, and identification with the ‘PASS’ mark or signed bankcard.

7. Participants must attend and take part in the whole course to be eligible to be awarded certification. Qualifications have mandatory contact time requirements and assessment criteria, which must be met - such as practical demonstration and multiple-choice test. If these requirements are not met, affected participants cannot be awarded the qualification. No refunds will be given in the event of not passing the course.

8. In the unlikely event that Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home needs to cancel a course, the course can be rescheduled or the course fee can be refunded. No compensation will be offered.

9. Course participants are responsible for maintaining reasonable levels of behaviour. Unreasonable or unacceptable behaviour may lead to offenders being asked to leave the course. Any malicious damage must be paid for. Course fees are not refundable to anyone asked to leave a course due to their actions.

10. Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home will not be liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury, or delay of any kind to any course delegate, any third party or object by any act, default or omission of any kind, however caused, except so far as such liability cannot be excluded by law.

11. By purchasing a gift voucher with Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the above terms and conditions. Please be aware that the recipient of the gift voucher will be presented with the above terms and conditions and will be asked to agree to them upon booking a course.
