EFT Services Disclosure Statement and Agreement
Welcome!
Please read this important information about my professional services and business policies prior to booking. By proceeding with the session or package, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the contents.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (also known as EFT or tapping) is a relatively new approach and whilst the body of scientific research is growing and providing some great results it is still considered experimental. Here is a link to some of the research: http://www.eftuniverse.com/research-studies/eft-research
Limitations of my EFT practice
I am not a licensed physician or mental healthcare provider. Even though I have a psychology degree and EFT is known as an ‘Energy Psychology’ technique, I am not, and never have been, a psychologist.
EFT is not a substitute for the diagnosis or treatment of medical or mental health conditions by a licensed health care professional. If you have a disorder or medical condition that has been diagnosed by a licensed medical or mental health care professional or a condition that should be evaluated by a licensed health care professional, my services should only be used in conjunction with you obtaining/continuing that care.
I do not diagnose or treat medical or mental health disorders nor am I trained to do so. EFT attempts to optimise the body’s overall health and vitality by bringing disturbed energy blocks back to a state of balance and harmony. It is not to be used instead of appropriate care from a licensed health care professional.
If you have ever been diagnosed with any of the following conditions (or similar conditions), please first book a free 15min Discovery Session with me so we can make sure I can keep you safe and that working with you is within my scope of practice:
If you are currently diagnosed with any of the following, unfortunately, I won't be able to work with you. Please feel free to book a free 15min Discovery Session if you'd like to discuss this.
The methods I use are gentle and non-invasive. During in-person sessions, if I feel the need to tap on you myself, I will always ask your permission first. If you are uncomfortable with being touched or with any of the procedures being used please tell me immediately and I will stop.
People often leave an EFT session feeling invigorated and lighter in spirit than when they started. But it is possible that physical or emotional effects may occur after a session as the body gets used to new energy patterns. If immediately after a session you feel mild disorientation, unfamiliar emotions, ungrounded or ‘spacey’ this is totally normal and not a side-effect of EFT. Please take some time to get grounded before you drive a car, operate machinery etc. so that you stay safe. You can get grounded by drinking water, going for a walk, and/or by focusing on what you can see, touch, taste, smell and hear in your immediate surroundings.
Confidentiality
With the exception of special situations described in the numbered list that follows, you have the right to absolute confidentiality of your therapy. I will always act so as to protect your privacy to the best of my ability. You may direct me to share information with whomever you choose. You may also request anyone you wish to attend a session with you.
I keep brief records on each session, primarily noting the date of the session, the interventions used, and progress or obstacles observed as they relate to your goals in working with me. You are welcome to request, in writing, that I make available to other health-care providers a copy of your file. I maintain your records in a secure location that cannot be accessed by anyone else. I will maintain your records for at least seven years after our last contact, after which time I may securely dispose of them.
I may occasionally find it helpful to consult other professionals about a client. During such consultation, I make every effort to avoid revealing the identity of the client. If you don’t object, I will not tell you about these consultations unless I feel it is important to our work together.
The exceptions to your right of confidentiality are:
(In either of cases 1 or 2 I may legally break confidentiality and contact the police, a local crisis team or a family member or other intimates.)
For confidentiality related to online meetings (currently Zoom):
Refunds
There are no refunds for change of mind.
Billing and Payment
Fees are for an individual 60 minute session or for a package with a set number of 60min sessions.
If you've booked a package of sessions, all sessions must be used within 12 months of booking - after this time, unused sessions are forfeited - unless we have mutually agreed to extend past 12 months.
All packages are payable up front upon booking unless we have agreed otherwise.
For individual sessions, fees will need to be paid before the appointment by the agreed method. If you cancel or miss a session with less than 24 hours’ notice the session fee will still be payable in full. If you are late to a session we will still finish on time.
For online sessions:
I look forward to working with you!
