We will take students on a virtual journey to discover the Western monarch overwintering habitat at Pismo State Beach. The Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is a special site where Western monarchs migrate each November. Students will learn about the monarch’s life cycle and migration patterns. We will also go over the importance of milkweed and other native plants that support pollinators. Students will learn the threats monarchs face and how to support monarch butterflies at school and home.
