Terms of service for acupuncture, tuina & facial acupuncture appointment bundles, my herbal medicine service and gift certificates

You can schedule appointments or enrol in an appointment bundle, service or gift certificate to have access to my services and advice. But you always have the right to refuse any part of or all treatment at any time. I am committed to ethical practice and I'm bound to the Code of Professional Conduct of the British Acupuncture Council and the Code of Ethics of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. These terms of service are in place for transparency around payment and reimbursement while we're undergoing your course of treatment. These cover all appointment bundles, herbal medicine service and gift certificates, as listed below.

Payment and pre-payment for services

Payment is taken for the delivery of my services, and this means payment is reimbursed when services are not or cannot be delivered. This may include instances when you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment or if I am unable to carry out treatment due to illness. For acupuncture, tuina and facial acupuncture appointments, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy wherein appointments cancelled without this notice are counted as services delivered - in all other cases your payment will be reimbursed on request. For my herbal medicine service, payment is based on a calendar week - days remaining within the same calendar week will be counted as service delivered but all subsequent payments may be paused or cancelled at any time.

Acupuncture, tuina and facial acupuncture appointment bundles

A 24-hour cancellation policy is in place for all charged appointments which are missed without this notice. This policy extends to pre-paid treatments, as such missed appointments without this notice will be counted as one of your bundle of treatments. You always have the right to refuse any part of or all treatment at any time. In the event that you should choose to discontinue treatment during your course, the standard appointment fee will be deducted for each session which has been delivered or missed without 24-hours notice, and the remaining amount reimbursed to you.

The standard fee for acupuncture appointments is £50.00. For bundles of acupuncture treatments, the amount of £50.00 is deducted for each session which has been delivered or missed without 24-hours notice. The remaining amount is reimbursed to you.
The standard fee for tuina manual therapy appointments is £50.00. For bundles of tuina manual therapy treatments, the amount of £50.00 is deducted for each session which has been delivered or missed without 24-hours notice. The remaining amount is reimbursed to you.
The standard fee for facial acupuncture appointments is £70.00. For bundles of facial acupuncture treatments, the amount of £70.00 is deducted for each session which has been delivered or missed without 24-hours notice. The remaining amount is reimbursed to you.

You may also suspend your course of treatment if you are unable to come in for a time. Your remaining treatments in your bundle will always be honoured but where treatment is suspended for more than 12 weeks, your remaining payment will be refunded and you may resubmit this later when you are ready to continue. You also have the option to donate the remaining appointments in your bundle to a friend or family member as a gift certificate providing this is commenced within three months.

Herbal medicine service

For herbal medicine treatment, I use a fixed weekly fee structure at £20 per week. Enrolling below will incur an immediate charge of £20 and set up a recurring charge every seven days thereafter. The weekly fee covers the herbal materials you will be sent, their postage and my time as regularly as you need. We will agree a schedule for your consultation appointments, and in between these you can book any extra times or contact me whenever you need.

You have the right to refuse any part of or all treatment at any time. Your confirmation email and each subsequent weekly email receipt contain a link to pause or stop payments at any time. No notice is required for this. Payment for my herbal medicine service is based on a calendar week. Days remaining within the same calendar week will be counted as service delivered but all subsequent payments may be paused or cancelled at any time.

The weekly £20 herbal medicine fee is based on attending consultation appointments remotely by video call. Face-to-face consultation appointments may be attended on request for which surcharges apply. Current surcharge rates are £50 for a new patient face-to-face consultation appointment or £20 for each subsequent routine face-to-face consultation appointment.

Gift certificates

Gift certificates are available for acupuncture, tuina & facial acupuncture treatment bundles, and for my herbal medicine service. Please refer to my policy for accepting third-party payment which can be viewed here. This is readable online or downloaded as a PDF.

The weekly fee covers the herbal materials you will be sent, their postage and my time as regularly as you need. We will agree a schedule for your consultation appointments, and in between these you can book any extra times or contact me whenever you need. The fee is based on attending consultation appointments remotely by video call. Face-to-face consultation appointments may be attended on request for which surcharges apply.
