The Collective

This Hip-Hop listening class will cover pre-commercialization of the genre from it's first recorded musicians in 1939 through the 50’s, ’60s and 70'’s; with the 70’s being the launching point of what we know today. From there, the class will focus on 80’s and 90’s styles of Hip Hop, moving into the 2000-2010 to today with emphasis on the changing message and lyrical styles.
