Getting Past Your Breakup is the original source for many of the concepts used by many therapists to help clients get past a breakup. Since its inception in 1995 through the publication of the book in 2009, GPYB (prior to 2006, it was Getting Past Your Past/GPYP) put the program together and it has been called the most successful breakup program in the world. Since then it has been recommended and used by many therapists all over the world and the book is on the Recommended list of many mental health agencies.
Unfortunately, the program has also copied by many unscrupulous people who are out to make a buck on someone else's work and some of the concepts have even been suggested to be used in unhealthy ways (using NC to get your ex back). This is NOT that.
Getting Past Your Breakup appears on several "Best Breakup Books of All Time" lists including Huffington Post and Marie Claire. The book consistently retains a top 10 spot on Amazon divorce for over 9 years. It was THE self-help book of the year in 2009 and continues to place on "best breakup books" and "best self-help books" lists as recently as December 2018. It's an accolade few others can boast. To do the PROGRAM right, you can do it with the program's creator who used it to get past her own divorce in 1991. Don't be fooled by imitators!
