We are offering remote tutoring sessions via Zoom or email/phone for Spring Quarter! (Start on Wednesday, April 8th) We are delighted to announce that the IWS is now fully operational until the end of Spring Quarter.
Tutors at IWS empower students of CHID, GEOG, GWSS and Interdisciplinary UW Honors program to become comfortable, confident, effective writers on social issues in academic contexts and the world. We welcome you to come talk with us at any stage in your writing process, and will help you advance your writing whether you are at the beginning of working on a paper or project or are about to turn it in, or are somewhere in the middle of research, writing, and thinking.
If you would like to meet with a tutor virtually, scroll down to select a tutor name or "any available" to see a calendar of available times. All appointments are 40 minutes long. Once you made an appointment, the tutor will send you a Zoom invitation by email. When you click on the invitation, you will be connected to the tutor via Zoom. If you have a draft that you would like to have the tutor's feedback, you can share your google.doc with the tutor. You can also share any material related to the writing you are working on: prompt, class
readings, notes, syllabus, and most importantly: your ideas!
Additionally, you can submit the writing you are working on by email and receive written comments by email and/or verbal comments by phone. Please email your submission to email@example.com along with prompt, indicate whether you would like to receive written comments, verbal comments or both, and a tutor will contact you within two days.
We look forward to working with you.
