This orientation is required to participate in any activity, event, or workshop at the Dance Studio, Fabrication Lab or Studios. The first step before using any Labs equipment. The Labs are designated for use by persons aged 13 and older. Children between 6-12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
During the brief orientation, you'll be introduced to the Lab's policies and procedures. Labs staff will check your ID and give you an electronic Participant Release Form to sign.

Learn how to use the Ultimaker 3 in an hour long class. After the machine orientation, you will be eligible to reserve time on the Fabrication Lab's 3D printers. Please arrive promptly at the start time of the class to ensure participation.

If you feel like it's time to refresh your knowledge, improve your skills, and gain a better understanding of a tech issue, this workshop series is for you. Each week we cover a different topic. Though it suits different learning levels, this workshop series, open to all adults, has been developed especially for older adults who consider themselves beginners. Registration is required for each event. You'll receive the schedule of topics upon registration.

During the first part, we cover one of the DC Public Library's goDigital resources and during the second part we dance! Yes, we'll dance each week to a different playlist created on Freegal (another goDigital resource). Registration is required for each event. You'll receive the schedule of topics upon registration.

Bring your bicycle, small appliances, electronics & toys, or garments. Network & learn how to disassemble, troubleshoot & if possible, repair your bicycle, item or garment. Workspace & basic hand tools provided.
Bicycle repair will occur outside MLK Library. This event has two (2) arrival times, please choose your preferred time.

Developed at MIT, Scratch, a coding language with a simple visual interface, will help you ease into the world of coding. This session lasts three (3) hours and is do-it-yourself (DIY) recording studio reservation. Please do not save any recordings to the Studio’s iMac. Save your recordings and files to your cloud or personal storage device. Remember to delete any personal recordings or files from the Studio iMac.
Please limit yourself to two (2) appointments per 30 days. No back-to-back appointments at this time.

Appointments are 3hrs; max capacity 8. Participants must sign a Participant Release Form. Commercial use is prohibited. The Studio has AV system, projector, portable dance barres, & wall-to-wall mirror. Participants must bring equipment/cables: laptops and other devices with auxiliary, HDMI, USB, or VGA ports. Use of AV system is facilitated by Labs staff. The Studio is unfurnished and visible to the public. Please limit yourself to 2 appointments per 30 days. No back-to-back sessions at this time.

Appointments are two (2) hours; maximum capacity is five (5). Participants must sign a Participant Release Form. Commercial use is prohibited. The Band/Voice Practice Studio has two (2) tables, five (5) chairs, ten (10) wall power outlets and four (4) floor power outlets. Participants must bring their own musical equipment. Please limit yourself to 2 appointments per 30 days.
