Scheduling is as easy as π!
1) Schedule a time for a free phone consultation with Everitt. We'll talk about your student's academic situation, and Ev will give you some advice on a timeline for tutoring and testing. Once we've discussed these matters and agreed on a rough timeline, you can reserve times for an initial Skype planning session and for tutoring sessions.
2) After your phone consultation with Everitt, he will email you links that you can use to schedule an initial Skype or Zoom planning session. At the Skype planning session we will go over your student's previous test scores (SAT, PSAT, ACT), decide which test to focus on, and develop a personalized tutoring plan.
3) When you schedule your initial Skype planning session, you can also choose times (again using links that Ev will send you) for tutoring sessions with Ev or Kathleen. This is where the magic happens!
A few things to keep in mind:
- Kathleen and I do in-home tutoring for students who live within our driving range. If you live in Alexandria, Arlington, or Fairfax, you are almost certainly within our driving range. If you live farther away, we can either meet at another location (such as a library or coffee shop) or via Skype or Zoom. Please note, however, that we're only tutoring online for the time being. When social distancing guidelines become less restrictive, we will reintroduce in-person tutoring.
- A full tutoring course for a typical student is 10-12 ninety-minute sessions. Some students may require more sessions, some fewer. Ev will advise you on how many tutoring sessions to reserve during your free phone consultation.
- Kathleen and Ev are both pretty busy, and our schedules tend to book up several months in advance. If neither of us has sufficient availability to work with your student in the near term, we are happy to add you to our waiting list. When one of our current students cancels a session, we will offer the newly available time to the students on our waiting list.
