Due to COVID-19, we will be offering our surgery appointments as curbside ONLY. The public is not allowed to go into our facilities until further notice for surgery check-in/check-out. Please call your corresponding clinic when you arrive and a staff member will inform you of the next steps to follow. Please do not exit your vehicle unless instructed. For the safety of our staff and yourself, please make sure you are wearing a mask when interacting with anyone at the clinic if you are able to safely. Masks are a requirement unless you have a medical condition that deems them a hazard to your safety.
Only card will be accepted at this time. No cash or checks
The calendar is only opened one month a time so if you do not see a month available, that means that location is full and the next month has not been opened yet. Please check back on the 25th for the following month to open up.
Please refer to your confirmation email for check in times for appointments since they might be different. Pick up time will be announced during check in by the surgery staff but know that pick up is the same day. Please arrive at the time instructed. If you are late to pick up your pet, you will be charged a $45 late fee. If you are unable to pick up your pet during our business hours that same day, we will go ahead and board your animal for an additional $75 per day per pet.
If you are bringing in an animal for surgery that you adopted from the Atascosa County Animal Control, please bring the spay/neuter certificate you were given to your pet's surgery appointment. We need to send in the appropriate documents to show you are compliant with your county.
If your pet is having surgery at our Brooks location, you can print and fill out your paperwork ahead of time by clicking here. Please make sure to bring the paperwork with you on the day of surgery or you will need to fill another blank form out. This form is ONLY accepted at our City Base Location. Fredericksburg road will not accept this check in form.
If you enter in the code for the zip code grant, and you do not qualify for this grant, you will be charged full price. Also, if you are using the animal friendly grant, the copay of $25 will be due at the time of the appointment, not ahead during scheduling. So please be aware that this grant doesn't make the surgery free.
Surgery fees are non-refundable.
Deposit Policy: A $10 deposit is required for all transport and zip code grant appointments at Brooks at the time of scheduling to confirm and hold your appointment. The full refund of $10 will be processed back to the original credit or debit card used to schedule the appointment and may take 5-7 business days to arrive. No shows or cancellations later than 48 hour notice are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled 48 hours before surgery for the deposit to be refunded.
**Note: If you schedule at the Brooks location on the regular calendar and you are trying to use the zip code grant, you will not be refunded. Please make sure you are scheduling on the right calendar if you are trying to utilize a grant.
If you would like to schedule more than one appointment, each appointment will need to be scheduled separately.
Note: The calendar is limited to accept a set number of large dogs and female animals per day as we have a limited amount of space to house these types of animals in recovery. If you are unable to schedule an appointment for multiple dogs or female animals in one day, try reducing the number of appointments you're scheduling.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: A full refund will be returned to the original card used for payment if the appointment is cancelled 48 hours in advance of the appoitnment date. Appointments can be rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance w/ no additional fees. *Please be advised that rescheduling your free or reduced-price surgery could make you ineligible for that promotion as grant funding for those surgeries has to be used by certain deadlines.
