About Our Tours:
- Our Recycling Education Center offers virtual and in-person tours scheduled Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM. All tours are scheduled, no drop ins.
- To accommodate high demand, each school may send a maximum of three classes per school year.
- For in-person tours, we host grades three and up. All ages are welcome to book virtual tours.
- We can host up to 35 attendees per in-person group.
- Student and community tours are free. We ask for profit/corporate teams to pay a fee.

About Our Facility:
The 11-acre Brooklyn facility features a Recycling Education Center with a theater, interactive exhibits, a lunch space, outdoor patio, and observation deck overlooking our Materials Recovery Facility. Visitors will experience the state-of-the-art sorting process, view hundreds of tons of recyclables that travel to our facility from all over New York City, and learn how we process 1,000 tons of materials each day. We are also host to sustainability features including the city's first commercial-scale wind turbine, a large solar array, native plantings, storm water management, and marine habitats.
The virtual tours feature photos, videos and graphics depicting our facility's operations and the entire recycling process. All tours are hosted live by one of our recycling educators and will include time for Q and A.
