The OPPATTM registration process has recently changed.

All individuals accessing the OPPATTM testing service must abide by the OPPATTM Code of Conduct and Deportment Policy as found on the oppat.ca website https://specialprojects.wlu.ca/oppat/code-of-conduct/

OPPAT™ testing is part of Paramedic Services’ hiring and return-to-work processes. Candidates are reminded to act accordingly. Your cooperation in maintaining a safe and respectful testing environment is both required and appreciated.


PRE-REGISTERING FOR YOUR OPPATTM TEST.

ALL CANDIDATES MUST COMPLETE THE PRE-REGISTRATION PROCESS (SEE BELOW). PLEASE NOTE THAT PRE-REGISTRATION APPOINTMENTS WILL BE DISPLAYED AS "AUGUST 2025". THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY A PLACEHOLDER APPOINTMENT - NOT YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT.

SCHEDULING OF MARCH 2025 APPOINTMENTS FOR BOTH LOCATIONS IS CURRENTLY UNDERWAY. SCHEDULING OF APRIL 2025 APPOINTMENTS WILL BEGIN ON / AROUND MARCH 25, 2025.

CANDIDATES ARE ASSIGNED BY THE OPPAT BOOKING TEAM TO APPOINTMENTS BASED ON FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS IN COORDINATION WITH THE EARLIEST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT. THE OPPAT BOOKING TEAM MAKES EVERY EFFORT TO ACCOMMODATE SCHEDULING LIMITATIONS AT THE TIME THAT APPOINTMENTS ARE SCHEDULED. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF AN APPOINTMENT BEING AVAILABLE AT A LATER DATE WITHIN A SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME, or ON A SPECIFIC DATE, or BY A SPECIFIC DATE, or AT A SPECIFIC TIME.

CANDIDATES CANNOT SELF-SCHEDULE THEIR APPOINTMENT.

The pre-registration request form (located at the bottom of this page) can take up 5 business days to be processed, at which time you will receive an email indicating that your pre-registration form has been received and entered into the scheduling queue.

Scheduled appointments will contain the date / time / location of your actual scheduled OPPATTM test.

OPPAT testing hours of operation are Monday through Sunday inclusive, between 1000hrs to 2000hrs.

OPPATTM APPOINTMENT PRE-REGISTRATION FORM

ALL candidates are required to pre-register for an appointment.

  • When completing your pre-registration form, it is imperative that you indicate any scheduling limitations that you may have in order for the OPPAT Booking Team to schedule an appointment accordingly.
  • Once the pre-registration form has been submitted, the date and time of the scheduled appointment will be assigned by the OPPATTM Booking Team within 5 business days.
  • Candidates will receive two (2) email notices from the Acuity Scheduling Registration System:
    • Email Notice #1 = This email notice will inform that your pre-registration form has been received. The date and time on the email notice serve ONLY as a placeholder until your actual appointment has been booked by our team.
    • Email Notice #2 = This email will inform you of the ACTUAL date, time, and location of your scheduled appointment.

Please check your inbox and your 'junk' folders for messages from Acuity Scheduling, oppat@wlu.ca, and oppatbookings@wlu.ca regarding pre-registration and scheduled appointments.


CANCELLATION POLICY:

Candidates are STRONGLY discouraged from cancelling their scheduled appointments.

"CANCELLING" A PLACEHOLDER / PRE-REGISTRATION FORM

If you have submitted your placeholder / pre-registration form and no longer need a scheduled appointment, please email oppat@wlu.ca


  • Upon receipt of the email, your placeholder / pre-registration form will be cancelled.

  • Cancelled placeholder / pre-registration forms will be refunded minus a $35.00 (+HST) administrative fee. Please note that refunds can take 7-10 business days to appear on the credit card that was used to pay for the appointment.

"CANCELLING" A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT NOT DUE TO MEDICAL ILLNESS OR INJURY

If you cannot, or do not want to, attend the your appointment as scheduled for any non-medical reason, please email oppat@wlu.ca indicating the date and time of your appointment.
  • Upon receipt of the email, your appointment will be cancelled and a refund issued as per the cancellation policy.
  • Candidates whose appointments are cancelled are required to start the pre-registration process again.

Emails that are received seven (7) or MORE days BEFORE the date and time of the scheduled appointment will be refunded minus a $35.00 (+HST) administrative fee. Please note that refunds can take 7-10 business days to appear on the credit card that was used to pay for the appointment.

"CANCELLING" A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT DUE TO MEDICAL ILLNESS OR INJURY:

Candidates who must cancel their appointment due to medical illness or injury are required to submit medical documentation from a regulated healthcare provider that includes the following information:

  • printed name, address, phone number, and medical licence number of the regulated healthcare provider;
  • the signature of the regulated healthcare provider;
  • the date of visit; and,
  • the date that the candidate will be medically cleared (i.e., have no functional limitations)

AT THE DISCRETION OF OPPAT APPOINTMENTS THAT NEED TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO DOCUMENTED MEDICAL REASONS OR INJURY MAY BE RESCHEDULE.

RESCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS FOR ANY MEDICAL REASON OR INJURY ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND.

“SWAPPING" A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER CANDIDATE

  • Candidates who want to "swap" their scheduled appointment with another candidate must email oppat@wlu.ca at least five (5) business days in advance of the first scheduled appointment that is to be changed.
  • The person(s) who are swapping the appointment(s) MUST be included on the email (i.e., “cc’d”).
  • The email must include:
    • the date and time of the scheduled appointments that are being swapped
    • the first and last names of each person involved in the swap
    • the email and phone number of each person involved in the swap
  • OPPATTM will not be involved in any financial transaction between candidates swapping or giving their appointments to another candidate.

“GIVING” A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER CANDIDATE

  • Candidates who want to "give" their scheduled appointment to another candidate must email oppat@wlu.ca at least five (5) business days in advance of the scheduled appointment.
  • The person who will be taking the appointment MUST be included on the email (i.e., “cc’d”).
  • The email must include:
    • the date and time of the scheduled appointment that is being given away
    • the first and last names of each person involved in the give-away
    • the email and phone number of each person involved in the give-away
  • OPPATTM will not be involved in any financial transaction between candidates swapping or giving their appointments to another candidate.

"NO-SHOW"

  • Appointments where a candidate is a “no-show” are non-refundable.
