Pet First Aid & CPR
Do you plan on working with other people’s pets for a living as a dog walker, groomer, or staff member at a boarding facility? Do you have pets at home and want to be prepared in case of an emergency? We can help. This course will cover pet first aid and CPR techniques. The emphasis will be on cats and dogs, and life-sized mannequins will be used to mimic working with real animals. Please do not bring your pet to class. The course length is 4 hours, and the fee is $50. Pre-registration is required.
Kids Who Care
1 hour 30 minutes
The Anti-Cruelty Society’s Kids Who Care program offers families an opportunity to engage in our work while providing valuable education to kids and adults alike. During this on-site event families learn more about proper animal care, make a toy for an adoptable pet, read a book to a resident cat, prepare snacks for our small mammals, and decorate an adoption poster for an available pet. If you have a child between the ages of 2-10 this is a great way to make a direct impact in the life of a shelter pet.
Youth Who Care
An animal advocacy and volunteer program for youth ages 10–13 years old. This exciting opportunity will be hosted at The Anti-Cruelty Society and during the course of the program participants will learn about a variety of topics including animal behavior, training, care and other animal welfare issues. Students will be able to earn service learning hours during the course of the program.
As space is limited we ask youth to only sign up for as many sessions as they will attend.
