Safety Guidelines for VITA Sites
No Walk-ins
Everyone is required to wear face covering. No exceptions.
- Volunteers and clients are required to wear a mask. A limited amount of masks will be available at each location.
No children allowed and one person from the party allowed at a time.
- All taxpayers are required to sign documents but only one will be allowed in the facility at a time. Taxpayers need to provide proper identity documentation, but can show it at the end.
Clients must wait until the EXACT appointment time. No waiting inside.
- Clients can wait in vehicles until their specified appointment time.
Maintain Social Distancing.
- United Way will try to place markers on the ground where possible to recommend proper distancing.
Proper sanitization/cleaning of area after each session.
- United Way has scheduled time between appointments to clean/sanitize each station. United Way will provide hand sanitizer for each location along with wipes or disinfectant spray.
Each client required to use hand sanitizer upon entry.
- United Way will provide hand sanitizer at each location.
All Volunteers will practice proper sanitization and social distancing procedures.
If you have not felt well in the past 2 weeks and have had a temperature over 98.6, please reschedule to a later date.

We are able to do prior year returns (dating back to 2017), tax return amendments, and assist with letters received from the IRS.
If you are married and filing jointly, your spouse must be present at the appointment to sign all documents.
*Due to program limitations, we cannot prepare Married Filing Separately returns, or state taxes outside of Texas.*
To Qualify:
Household Income of $55,000 a year or less
Must bring the following documents:
- Photo ID
- Social Security Card or ITIN card (for you, your spouse, and all dependents)
- W-2s
- 1095-(A, B, or C) - (proof of health insurance)
- Void checking/savings account statement with bank routing numbers (optional, but required for direct deposit of tax refund)
If applicable:
- copy of last year's federal tax return
- 1099-G (unemployment insurance benefits)
- 1099-INT (bank interest)
- 1098-T (gambling winnings)
- Notice 1319 (advance child credit)
- 1099-MISC
