Gas Mask Fit Testing:
GAS MASK FIT TESTS (NOT RESPIRATORS) ARE NOW ONLY AVAILABLE VIA WALK-INS, ON TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS FROM 0830-1200.
Walk-in Gas Mask Fit Tests are conducted in the the BE Office, using the QuantiFit2. A BE technician is not required to complete the fit test.
BRING AN ISSUED GAS MASK FROM IPE LOCATED @ JMC.
You need a gas mask fit test if any of the following applies to you:
- First-term Airmen (new to the Air Force).
- Have had facial reconstructive surgery since your last fit test.
- Lost/gained 10% of your body weight since your last fit test.
- Prior fit test on M-45, MCU-2/P, or any other gas mask models (other than M50) in the past.
Respirator Fit Testing:
Bring your own respirator from your shop
N-95s will be provided for medical personnel.
You MUST be clean shaven to be fit tested.
Medical Evaluation Questionnaires (MEQs) - For first time personnel enrolling in Respiratory Protection (RP) program or new to the shop, MEQs must be signed/approved prior to fit testing respirators.
MEQs can be accessed through your IMR. Please call Public Health for any questions regarding MEQs.
IAW OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, paragraph (f) and Appendix A, Fit Testing Procedures (Mandatory), fit tests will only be performed when the test subject is wearing any applicable safety equipment that may be worn during actual respirator use which could interfere with respirator fit (e.g. safety goggles).
Please DO NOT eat, drink (excluding water), or smoke/vape/dip at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

**CE personnel in the following AFSCs (3E0X1, 3E0X2, 3E1X1, 3E2X1, 3E3X1, 3E4X1, 3E5X1, 3E6X1) who are deploying, must be fit tested and current on N-95 for the duration of deployment**
