Slow Burn Fitness with Coty, December 26, 27, 29
1 hour 30 minutes
This class focuses on time under tension with slow controlled ground based exercises. The movements will be slow but we will quickly be moving from one exercise to the next to help keep the heart rate up. We will use weights as well as the Slings but we will not be working in the air. We start the class explaining some of the moves, basic form and warming up and end the class with a brief cool down.
Prereqs: some knowledge of basic fitness.
Aerial Pilates with Merrily, Sundays 1:30pm
Aerial Pilates is a flying version of yoga and pilates with a focus on form, stretching, strength, and mindful movement of Pilates exercises and yoga poses using the fabric as a guide. Ends in a relaxing, cocoon-like savasana.
Beginner Trial Class, Saturdays 10:30am
This one-hour class will introduce you to a variety of basic, low-to-the-ground moves on aerial silks, trapeze, and other aerial apparatuses, depending on which instructor is teaching! Check out the studio, meet an instructor, and find out if aerial arts are for you!
All are welcome, there are no prerequisites. Bring a water bottle, and wear soft clothing that covers the backs of your knees. No jewelry, zippers or grommets on your clothing. We also recommend wearing a t-shirt you can tuck into your pants
Circus Circuit™ with Alison, Sundays 9:00am/Wednesdays
Are you ready to get circus fit? This kick your butt workout will feature circuit training with a circus flair. We will use horizontal and vertical apparatus as well as plenty of ground conditioning, focusing on working out the whole body. Modifications always available!
Strength and Flexibility with Claire, Thursdays 6:00pm
In this class, dance professional Claire Hilleren will focus on stretching for flexibility. Active flexibility includes a strength component to allow for greater control through a full range of motion. We will discuss the current best practice stretching methods, including when we should do certain types of stretches. The class will also emphasize maintaining a balance between strength and flexibility to facilitate health and longevity in our active lifestyles.
Trapeze Reboot with Sandra, Mondays 4:00pm
1 hour 30 minutes
Have you been away from trapeze for too long? This class is focused on reviewing and refreshing both basic and intermediate skills as well as adding to your repertoire. Trapeze Reboot is a multi-skill level class that will help fill in gaps in your knowledge and prepare you for your next level.
Prerequisite: at least 1 year regular aerial experience on trapeze or other apparatus.
Wings of Steel: Silks and Slings Body Mechanics with Merrily, Thursdays 11:00am
This 60 minute class uses Pilates-based core work to build the strength and connection to handle even the most demanding aerial moves with ease. Sliders and resistance bands will be used in addition to Silks/Slings. We will troubleshoot individual problem areas and work on maintaining excellent form in the air and on the ground. Class concludes using foam rollers and myofascial release technique.
