1. Base if needed…..If you have pale skin, please consider whether or not you would like to a self tanner a week prior to your tanning appointment. Though used as a based, a self tanner should be applied evenly.
2. Exfoliate ( gloves, brushes, loofa)Smooth skin is extremely essential for an even tan. Dead skin cells will be less noticeable if you exfoliate. It is important to exfoliate at least one week prior to the show.
3 Hair Removal (wax,shave,creams)
You should consider removing all hair. Please remove 1- 2 days prior to tanning. If you do decide to use hair removal products, make sure you experiment with the product as soon as possible by doing a spot test on an area of your skin. This will allow you to see how your skin will react.
4 Clean skin is important
Do not wear lotions, creams, oils or deodorant prior to getting tanned. Your skin needs to be completely clean and free of all products. Chemicals in certain products can mix with the tan and cause an unflattering green-ish color.
5 Things to consider
****Wear slippers or flip flops in tanning tent**** The tanning tent floor at times may be wet from tan and dirt, please consider wearing slippers or flip flop while tanning. Loose fitting clothes is also important. We suggest to NOT wear red, the red dye can mix with the tan and cause your skin to turn a green-ish color.
Tanning in the nude can get a more even tone but this is not necessary.
Once tan has been applied it is best to sleep in loose fitting clothes and a cool environment.
