I meet with people for many reasons. If we are specifically meeting for meditation instruction or path guidance, as part of our connection consider a financial heart offering. I happily meet with students at no charge and also accept teaching gifts. In the ancient Buddhist practice tradition of dana, one makes an offering when receiving dharma. Your offering invokes the blessings of generosity (lessening attachment, increasing merit, fostering the mind of enlightenment) and my receiving allows the teacher to devote time and energy to practice and sharing dharma teachings.
