HOW WATER TEMPERATURE AFFECTS THE SPRING SCHEDULE AT BDU:

50°F - Pools open for the season

55°F - Dock diving lessons start for experienced teams

60°F - Dock diving lessons begin for first timers and those needing convincing to jump off the dock or side.

65°F - Swimming lessons begin for the season

BDU POOL POLICY

Due to liability and safety concerns, you are NOT permitted to enter the pool with your dog unless under the direct supervision of an instructor AND directed to do so by that instructor. If you are registering for a Swim Lesson, you should be prepared to enter the water with your dog.

BDU CANCELLATION POLICY

When you schedule a pool appointment for your dog we reserve that time just for you. Therefore we require a minimum of 24-hours notice if you cancel; at which time we will issue a credit for future use (non transferable and valid for 1 year from date of issue). No shows will be charged in full for all reserved slots.

Pool & Dock Rental 60ft pool (no instruction)

25 minutes @ $30.00

25 minute private pool or dock time. Extra dogs allowed $5 each (max of 3 per session) *NO HUMANS IN POOL*

DOGS MUST BE COMPETENT SWIMMERS AND PASS A SWIM ASSESSMENT!- This pool is 60'x20' with a 40' dock - Dock is a regulation 2' off the water, with sport turf, and a 60' deck that runs along side that sits 6" off the water.

Pool & Dock Rental 40ft Pool (no instruction)

25 minutes @ $30.00

25 minute private pool or dock time. Extra dogs allowed $5 each (max of 3 per session) ***NO HUMANS IN POOL***

DOGS MUST BE COMPETENT SWIMMERS AND PASS A SWIM ASSESSMENT! - This pool is 40'x20' with a 20' dock. The 20' dock is 2' off the water, with grass like synthetic turf (great for practicing for mobile dock events). The puppy dock is great for new jumpers and those finding their inner brave, and sits just a few inches off the water surface. Hydrodash equipment is available at all times.

Private Instruction

Swim Assessment

15 minutes @ $40.00

*** Required for all Dogs Coming to BDU for the first time and/or have not Graduated from Swim Lessons ***

Swim Assessments are for dogs who are already swimmers and comfortable in the water. Swimming means floating/swimming in water over the dog's head willingly and without force AND able to exit the pool without assistance using the ramp. Your dog must be a capable swimmer to use the pools without instruction. You may use a flotation device on your dog as part of the assessment.

Private Instruction

25 minutes @ $45.00

25 minute private dock diving instruction for those already able to jump from the side of the pool , short dock, or from the regulation dock height (belly floppers to high flyers)! Dogs MUST be exuberant toy chasers and water loving swimmers prior to taking a dock lesson. *You may share or split your lesson with up 2 dogs max per session.

2023 Season Ultimate Competitor Lesson Package

This lesson pack has been created for our most dedicated dock diving competitors. This package is good for 23 private lesson sessions. There are 23 weeks in our "summer season" between May 1st and September 30th - This package would essentially offer you the opportunity for 1 lesson slot a week for the season at BDU. Pools generally open May 1st, and close around mid Oct.

*Purchaser is eligible to schedule up to 2 lesson per week maximum until their package runs out. Only one package per household will be allowed in 2022 as we try out this new approach for our goal focused competitors.

This package comes with special scheduling privileges which will allow arranging for lessons up to 3 months in advance.
