Alameda County Law Library is pleased to announce that it now accepts first-time passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State for Passport Books and Passport Cards. The Law Library is located at 125 12th St. in Oakland, between Oak St. and Madison St.

Passport Appointment Schedule
Before making an appointment to submit your completed passport application, review the complete instructions on the U.S. Department of State- Apply in Person site to determine exactly what you will need to bring. Some applicants require additional documents and/or witnesses.
You must bring the following to your appointment:
Young Adults ages 16-17
with their own government-issued identification can apply for a
passport by themselves; however, it is recommended that at least one
parent appear in person with the minor to identify him/her and to show
parental awareness. A Student I.D. will only be accepted with an
accompanying parent presenting a government-issued I.D.
Note: All steps
above must be followed.
Minors under age 16: Child and both parents, or child and the child’s legal guardian(s) must appear. If both parents cannot appear, additional documents are required.

We do not accept passport renewal applications at this time.
We do not offer Passport photography service at this time. You need to bring an acceptable passport photo to your appointment.
