Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Greater Sydney, there are a few special conditions that all visitors must abide by:
1) All CBS Centres will require at least 1-business-day notice to book a tour, which means no same-day tours can be booked, either online or over the phone.
2) As of December 2021, up to 2 fully vaccinated visitors can attend a tour, as well as being accompanied by 1 child, with a mask being worn at all times. Tours will be restricted to 15-minutes in length, must be booked in advance (ie. no walk-ins will be accepted), and visitors will only be shown their child's room and play areas (not the entire centre). These measures are in place to protect the children and staff at CBS, and whilst are not ideal for families making an important decision about the care of their child, this should illustrate our commitment and thoughtfulness to health, safety and care.
3) For families starting care, 'orientation sessions' are still not possible, however, in some of our centres, 1 fully vaccinated parent may be permitted to drop off their child at the door of their child's room to ease the transition into care. This cannot be guaranteed at every centre as it comes down to the size of the public areas and concerns raised by existing families, and will only be permitted for a new child's first 2-3 days only. Discuss this with your Nominated Supervisor should you wish to talk about strategies we use to make new children feel comfortable, however after your child's first few days, you will be required to drop off your child at the centre's front door like all other families.
4) CBS is of course aware that these conditions are different to the COVID-19 community guidelines current as of 15 December 2021. The Early Learning Industry receives its advice and guidelines from The Department of Education and NSW Health, and our directives advise caution given the increase in COVID-19 cases in the community, also remembering that children under 5 years are still not eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
We are here to answer any questions you might have and look forward to welcoming you into our centre 😁.
