If you live within 30 minutes of Orinda, Laura does the initial consultation via Zoom or phone call, without charge for the first 1.5 hours. At the end of this meeting, she will recommend documents appropriate for your situation, and provide a quote for the legal fee. Then you can decide if you wish to proceed. A typical project takes 4-6 weeks to complete.
After you choose your meeting date and time, look for a confirmation email with more details.

Do you need a Court Order to administer someone else's estate in California? If so, you need a Probate Attorney.
Laura does not charge for the initial consultation, which can be by phone or video conference. At this meeting, she will ask for details about the family, the Will or Trust (if any), and all the assets. Then she will be able to provide a quote for the legal fee and lay out a plan for handling the process through the County Court. Then you can decide if you wish to proceed.

Are you working with another person's Trust in California? If so, you should get legal advice in order to comply with the state laws governing fiduciary duties.
The initial consultation can be done by video conference or phone, with no charge for the first hour. At this meeting, Laura will normally be able to provide a quote for the legal fee and lay out a plan for handling the trust administration process. Then you can decide if you wish to proceed.

For Laura's existing clients, she offers a Trust Checkup at a discounted rate. During this 30 minute phone call or video conference, we will go over any changes in your family or assets that might impact the design of your Estate Plan. She will want to know if you have any new accounts and if everything is titled correctly and protected by your Living Trust. Please note: If your last update to your Estate Plan was over 5 years ago, you are entitled to a no-cost Trust Checkup.

For Laura's existing clients, she offers a no-cost Trust Checkup every five years. During this 30 minute phone call or video conference, we will go over any changes in your family or assets that might impact the design of your estate plan. She will want to know if you have any new accounts and if everything is titled correctly. and protected by your Living Trust. As part of this service, she will prepare a new Durable Power of Attorney for you at no charge.

As Laura's existing client, you can schedule a phone or video conference, or a meeting in-person (normally in your home, within 30 minutes of Orinda) to design or update your estate plan or to discuss your current matter.
If you want to update your documents and they are at least 5 years old, consider scheduling a no-cost Trust Checkup Appointment. If your documents are more recent, consider scheduling a 30 Minute Conference to discuss your needs.

This meeting will be your opportunity to learn about the design of your Trust, discuss your questions and revisions, and review other documents in your Estate Plan, including your Advance Health Care Directive.
If you wish to have your documents notarized at the end of this meeting, please make those arrangements with Laura by email well in advance. Otherwise, she have drafts ready for you and the next meeting will be with the notary.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an overview of your Estate Plan to your family so they will understand what is involved in handling your assets when the time comes. This is a Zoom video conference, so it will work best with six or fewer participants.
In booking this meeting, you are providing Laura with your permission to share details of your Estate Plan with the persons you invite. If you have specific details you wish to keep private, please alert Laura in advance of the meeting.
