During this unprecedented time, David York’s Tax Service, Inc. will continue to schedule phone appointments & prepare taxes. Again, all appointments will be conducted via telephone until further notice.
For returning clients, please make sure all documents needed to prepare your taxes are uploaded to the SmartVault-Client Portal. If you are a new client an invitation will be sent to you to access the client portal, SmartVault. If you did not receive one, please send an email to taxes@davidyorkstaxservice.com or contact our office at 619.684.5005.
We will require all clients to upload their tax documents one week prior to your appointment into their SmartVault Source Document folder. This will allow us to enter the data and prepare your tax return as much as we can prior to your meeting. By doing so, it allows us to spend more quality time reviewing your tax return with you and making any necessary changes for the current year and any tax projections needed for the next year.
We request that you upload your documents in no more than 5 attachments. Please note that we will only accept the following type of attachments, PDF, .DOC or .XLS. If there are more than 5 attachments you may incur a $25 administrative/processing fee. WE WILL NOT accept any pictures (JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, RAW or PSD). If you are unable to upload your documents you may mail them prior to your schedule appointment, via USPS to 7860 Mission Center Ct. Suite 107, San Diego, CA 92108 or email them to us by scanning them in no more than 5 attachments and email them to taxes@davidyorkstaxservice.com. You may also drop them off at our office by sliding them under the door. DO NOT enter our office, we are not accepting any visitors.
Our staff will call you at the time of your scheduled appointment. Checklists to assist in preparing the necessary documents can be found on our website Documents & Checklist's. It is extremely important that you provide all necessary documents to prepare your taxes at the time of your appointment. If there is any missing information & your taxes cannot be prepared at the scheduled time, your tax filing may be delayed 3-4 weeks.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 and evaluate ways to best serve our clients while reducing risk of transmission for clients and staff.
When booking an appointment, you must
provide a credit card number and you are agreeing to adhere to
the cancellation policy of 48 hours notice to cancel or
reschedule your appointment. Cancellations less than 48 hours or
No-show appointments will be charged a fee of $100. Your credit card will not be charged unless you do not adhere to the cancellation policy.
Please note prices are BASE prices and are subject to change based on complexity and additional forms.
My aim is to keep my fees as reasonable as possible while still being fairly compensated for my time and expertise. If, for example, a tax return takes longer than originally anticipated, the fee will increase. It will not increase, however, because of small or incidental additional time.
- The fee may vary each year based on changes in your tax situation. Sometimes these changes won’t be immediately apparent to the client. One year could be more or less than the previous year.
Tax Preparation Fee Includes:
- Preparation of your tax return, including a few moderate length emails to gather any additional information.
- Review of completed tax return (up to 15 minutes; additional time billable)
- Correction of any errors made by me.
NOT Included in the Tax Preparation Fee:
- Time consuming corrections made after tax return completion, that are the result of inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client.
- Assistance with inquiries, examinations or audits of any kind by any tax authority, that are not the result of my error. If you require consulting or more involved advice, my time is billable at $450 per hour.
We will charge the card you enter when making an appointment unless you inform us not to at the time of your appointment, We may charge you an insufficient fund fee, up to the maximum rate allowed by law, if your payment is dishonored. In addition to our right to assess late payment fees, interest, and any other costs arising from our expenses to recover amounts you owe us if your payment is not made by the due date on your invoice, we may begin procedures to cancel services.
