Building Blocks in Color February Mondays 5:00-6:00pm
Block Like a Pro Saturday, January 30th 10 am-12:30 pm w/Barbara Benson

Our resident pro, Barbara Benson, will be showing you how every knitted project benefits from blocking and many absolutely require it to achieve their full potential, but what does blocking actually involve? In this class you will learn how blocking interacts with the different fiber contents of yarn, different project types, and various different fabric characteristics. We will cover the tools (both traditional and non) needed for wet blocking and how to use them as well as steam blocking acrylic yarn.

Decreases 101 Tuesday February 2nd, 5pm-6pm
Whether used decoratively or functionally, increases are found in nearly all knitting patterns. In this class we will talk about how decreases are used in knitting patterns and then go over how to work the most common decreases (and a few fun ones if we have time)!
Chart Reading 101 Tuesday February 9th, 5pm-6pm
Have you been scared or intimidated by charts, in this class I will teach you how to approach charts and understand how to figure out what all those symbols mean anyway! Learn the basics and tips on avoiding pitfalls. There is no knitting in this class, so just filling your brain with the knowledge you need to take a swing at charts!
Chart Reading 201 Tuesday February 16th 5pm-6pm
Hands on application! In this follow up class to Charts 101 we will be casting on some swatches and applying what we learned about reading charts to yarn and needles. Get ready to be able to work from charts confidently!
Beginning Lace Techniques Tuesday February 23rd 5pm-6pm
Love the look of lace but afraid to give it a try? In this beginning class you will learn the terminology and chart symbols for simple lace and the techniques to work these instructions. Homework will involve casting on and being ready to work a swatch.
Magic Loop Tuesday March 2nd 5pm-6pm
Knit small circumferences in the round on long circular needles so that you can avoid DPNs! If you've struggled with this technique, I will do my best to help it click for you. I use this technique on hats, socks, fingerless mitts, cowls, sleeves … pretty much everything!
Mosaic Colorwork 101 Tuesday March 9th 5pm-6pm
Learn how you can create beautiful colorwork by simply knitting stripes and slipping stitches! The Mosaic style of slip stitch colorwork is almost like cheating. You do not have to carry any yarn along the row. If you can knit stripes you can do it. And even if you're not comfy with knitting stripes - you will be after the class.
Pattern Reading 101 Tuesday March 16th 5pm-6pm
The first time you look at a knitting pattern you may think to yourself “this looks like a secret code” and well, it is. But you can learn how to read it and be in the know! In this class we will go over the parts of a pattern and how to evaluate if you feel ready to tackle the project. You’ll learn basic abbreviations and how to figure out the oddball ones, and we’ll delve into how repeats work within rows and sections.
Variegated Yarn 101 Tuesday March 23rd 5pm-6pm
You love and buy variegated yarn but when you try to use it in a pattern it just makes a mess. In this class you will learn how to evaluate both your yarn and patterns so that you can pair them with the confidence that they will play well together.

While it feels like an afterthought and something to hurry through, weaving in your ends is an important part of making sure your finished piece stays beautiful for years to come.
Fixing Mistakes Virtual Saturday February 13th 10am-12pm
This class will continue to expand your foundational knitting skills. In this class you will learn:

how to tink and/or "rip out" and pick up stitches
