To ensure public safety, in cooperation with numerous federal and local government agencies, all special events are licensed through DCRA. Special events (i.e. street festivals, health fairs, circuses, live performances, public lectures) may take place on private or public property. A consent list with signatures of 75% of the resident housekeepers and occupants of business establishments within a prescribed distance is required.

A Vending Business License is required for goods and services sold exclusively from a public space and that are for the immediate delivery to the customer upon purchase (i.e. food trucks, hot dog carts, sidewalk merchandise vendors, ice cream trucks, etc.).
