Players must be able to rally 6+ balls from the baseline, know and consistently hit forehands, backhands, volleys, over heads and be working on serving (regular balls). Players must know how to start a match, keep score including switching sides. If you are unsure of class placement and are a current student, please email fortmyerstennis@gmail.com, otherwise, please schedule a player evaluation.

For tennis newbies and those with a year or less of consistent training, this is the class for you! We will be covering all of the basics from how to hold a racquet, where to stand and how to move, to volleys, groundstrokes, and even serving! Players should expect to have a solid understanding of the game of tennis by the end of the season. Our goal is to get the kids rallying and playing points as quickly as possible.

For tennis newbies or those who have been playing consistently for less than a year, this is the class for you! We will work on the foundational tennis techniques including: volleys, groundstrokes, over heads, serving, keeping points and how to play a match! Players will move up to an Intermediate level class when they can rally 6+ balls with a coach, and consistently hit all of their shots (not including serves). Evaluation may be required.

A family lesson is valid for up to 4 people on the court, ages 5+. If you would like to register for regular family lessons we will of course build the content to be increasingly challenging as you develop your skills!

Join us for the Historic Edison Tournament on February 24 & 25 2024! This will be a double elimination tournament with guaranteed two matches per team. Matches will be 8 game pro sets, 7 point tie break at 7 games all to decide the match. The tournament will run over two days, Saturday - Sunday and players should expect to be available from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm for matches both days. Teams will have guaranteed rest of one hour between matches. Please specify your partner at checkout.
