Emotions, thoughts, and the physical body are deeply connected and are constantly interacting with and influencing each other. This four week course is designed to teach participants skills to monitor and manage their emotions, thoughts, and bodies to help with anxiety, depression, and the symptoms associated with trauma. The skills that will be taught include breathing techniques, mindfulness, movement, focus, compassion, meditation, guided imagery, and basic yoga postures.

Therapeutic Yoga fosters development of mind-body awareness, allowing you to develop a deeper awareness of your internal emotional state. This translates into an ability to listen and respond to the body’s messages. A therapeutic yoga practice can build self-regulation, calming and integrating the emotional limbic system of the brain. The approach is tailored to the individual, even in a group setting. This class meets you where you are. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 am

Yoga Therapy is a holistic healing art combining the ancient science of yoga with elements of contemporary body/mind psychology. Sessions consisted of guided meditations, assisted yoga postures, and mindful dialogue that bring the client's awareness to their present moment experience. As this is a client-centered modality, you are able to direct the session, letting me know how you feel about physical contact and touch, and which poses you would like to do.
