In this clinic: I will be opening up my process to show you how I prepare music files for music libraries and publishers as well as for music supervisors and other pros in the sync industry. I will use specific brief & spec examples with metadata and share what I've learned from attending recent music conferences like the TAXI road rally and Durango Expo. In this clinic I will be deep diving into the etiquette and best practices of pitching your music to connect with Music Supervisors, Directors and Sync Agents. I will go over the different ways you can contact and connect with them, the importance of correct metadata, organization and other tips and tricks to get you noticed and stand out in a very competitive contemporary music industry.

In this Sync Clinic, “Cracking the Cue Code,” Dean takes apart his own signed music
cues and reconstructs them step by step, diagnosing the how, when, where and
why of creating useable cues for Film, TV and Advertising. Major points covered in
this workshop include: Mood, Genre, Instruments, Arrangement, Production,
Composition, Lyric, Melody, Flow and why “less is usually more.”
