Please complete the Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire and bring it with you on the day of your test.
Fit testing takes approximately 10-15 minutes if the respirator fits properly.
You will perform 4 tasks while masked and connected to the machine with light vacuum tubing.
Tasks are based on movements people do daily in routine living.
- Bending over (bend at waist, 2 breaths, upright, 2 breaths, repeat for 50 seconds)
- Talking (Reading aloud or counting to see if jaw movement breaks the seal, 30 sec)
- Moving head side to side (Like conversing with people at a conference table, 2 breaths each extreme, repeat for 30 seconds)
- Moving head up and down (looking from keyboard to monitor or x-ray screen, 2 breaths each extreme, repeat for 30 seconds
