Volunteer & Docent Program
One of the many ways you can support our animals is by volunteering your time! We have many ways you can give your time.
Make sure you are following us on Facebook in the “Quit LION around... the Monroe Zoo needs YOU!” group.
We schedule volunteer days quarterly that involve gardening, building, painting and repairs to animal exhibits. There is always a need for help around the zoo!
We encourage community organizations to plan projects that will benefit the LPG&Z, then present the plan to the zoo director for approval. Once approved, a date can be set for your group to implement your plan. Some examples include Garden Club and Eagle Scout projects that enhance the zoo.
