Technique and Variations. Instructor permission required.

This class is structured for anyone with limited mobility or disabilities. You will connect to flamenco music through choreographies and improvisation and exercise your body. This class focuses on community and the celebration of flamenco culture.

Dancers from all disciplines will move using flamenco/Spanish dance style. Students will learn both technique and fun choreography.

This class is a fun and and informal session focused on basic palmas and accompaniment. This all-level class allows more experienced aficionados to share their knowledge with new students. We will concentrate on palmas and use our various skills, including cante, baile, and guitarra.

Open to all. No registration is required; $5 suggested cash donation.

Learn to play the flamenco guitar! A group class for all levels especially for those who want to learn to accompany cante (singing) and baile (dance). All you need is a flamenco or classical guitar.

New students start here! This class is for students with little/no flamenco experience or who want to brush up on the basics. In a fun, supportive environment you will learn basic flamenco movement vocabulary and put it together in short choreographies. Includes live flamenco guitar.

What to wear: Top, full skirt/pants you can move in, Flamenco shoes (or any shoes with smooth sole and sturdy 2” heel). Don't have shoes? Wear what you have and come to class!

Students will continue to work the essential techniques of flamenco - posture, brazeo (arms), turns, footwork and palmas, with emphasis on bringing them together in a traditional flamenco choreography dominated by compás (rhythm structure) and the cante (singing). The class includes live flamenco guitar.

In this new level class, continuing students ready to move past Level 3 will build their flamenco skills at an intermediate/advanced level – arms, footwork, turns and palmas – while learning a new flamenco choreography that incorporates these expanded techniques. Students will also learn more about the variety of flamenco palos (dance styles) and compás (rhythms). This class will also prepare students to perform in the student showcase, if desired, and includes live guitar.

Ages 6-9 Years

This kid’s class explores flamenco rhythms, build body awareness and coordination, and most importantly is about fun! Ages 6-9 years old are welcome to attend, but we are also flexible. Please contact us at zorongoflamenco@gmail.com if you have questions.

Prepare to get stronger! This intense class will guide students to improve technique and stamina by repeating drills and simple combinations, working on arms, turns, and footwork. It will be consistent across instructors so that students can attend whichever classes fit their schedule. No choreography. Prerequisite: Level 1.
