Any vessel wishing to launch in Lake Berryessa sooner than the required 30-day quarantine period must have a hot-water decontamination performed by certified Lake Berryessa staff. These vessels are allowed to launch immediately following decontamination. Decontaminations performed at another facility will not be valid unless a seal is applied to the vessel and appropriate paperwork is presented.
The decontamination is currently FREE and will take place at Steele Canyon Recreation Area, 1605 Steele Canyon Road, 6 miles north off highway 128. Additional decontamination units are currently being constructed and new locations around the lake will be coming soon.
All decontamination reservations must be made in advance and will be on a first come, first served basis. We are unable to accommodate requests made in less than 24 hours.
If there are no openings available on the calendar, it means that everything is currently booked. New decontamination equipment is currently being fabricated and staff are actively being trained in this procedure to increase decontamination availability. As soon as equipment and staff become more available, additional booking will be posted.
