Hoyt Arboretum is dedicated to environmental education, and students of all ages are central to our mission.

Our museum of living trees has more than 6,000+ trees and 2,300 species from around the world planted along 12 miles of trails. Located just outside downtown Portland, Hoyt Arboretum is an ideal location to explore and learn.

Best Tree Forever (2nd-5th Grade Field Trip)

1 hour 30 minutes @ $7.00

This inquiry-based curriculum introduces students to tree identification, natural history, ecological value, and cultural importance. Students will leave Hoyt Arboretum with a deep understanding of a native tree species or Best Tree Forever (BTF) that can be recognized all over the greater Portland area.
